MINE THE GAP
MLIS Student Council is proud to announce that our very own communications officer, Siu Hong Yu, has been published in Open Shelf. His piece, Mine the Gap: Leveraging Open Access Through Citizen Engagement in Science, discusses the importance of science literacy generally and the specific possibilities for better handling science literacy in the library setting.
Congratulations Siu! Your work - whether it be photography, writing, or council contributions - continues to impress!
MLIS WESTERN HOUSING
Our Co-Op and Housing Liasion, Tarek Akhtar, has started up a Facebook group for MLIS students looking for housing options in London. As the term wraps to a close, we may try to extend the group to also handle selling off furniture and wares. it's a great resource for new students, students returning from co-op, or even students looking for better accommodations.
If you are a current or aspiring MLIS student who does not have a Facebook profile, please get in touch with us so that we can help you access the information on this group.
